Which is more beautiful? Is it the longing for a hug or the memory of the sweet relief you feel after having received a hug? You'll tell me its none of the above... It's the joy of being in Her arms, Her overwhelming, motherly, love-filled smile, the memory of all that together and wishing it lasted a bit longer... THAT's the most beautiful! As She takes you to these moments when you melt into timeless joy, with time & creation standing still, transforming untold pain into everlasting joyous relief-- allow Amma to merge you back into you true Self! Welcome home!
What you posted is so true. I remember my first hug in 2002, Amma's first visit to Malaysia. As my family was nearing Her, a volunteer approached me to hand over my handbag. She asked me 3x whether that was my handbag. I was puzzled by that. When my turn came for Amma's embrace, She looked directly in my eyes, smiled and said "Welcome home my darling daughter" In that instant, time and space stood still. I was in total bliss and at the same time spaced out. The feeling experienced is impossible to describe in words. When She let go and asked us to sit on stage, I was approached by the same volunteer asking me which amongst the pile of handbag was mine. I was dazed and could not remember which one is mine. Now i totally understood why she had to asked me 3x. After hearing so many stories, one can only conclude that : Amma' hug is meant for you and you alone. Nobody can tell you how, when and what you will experience. Some felt nothing but the changes came a few weeks'or months later. One thing is certain, there will be an impact in your life and your outlook in life will change. Try it, for no one can tell you what you are going to experience. Enjoy the Love embrace with no expectations!
My first experience with mother was on Thaipusam day 2002.I was at Batu Caves and there was booth taken up by Amma's children announcing Amma's arrival in Malaysia. I must admit that before that day , i've never heard of Amma, but when i saw the large photo of Amma placed in the booth i was overwhelmed and without realising i went to the booth and got information on Amma.Maybe there was a connection or Amma willed that my time has come for her experience. On the day of Amma's darshan i waited for 12 hours lining up and snaking around the Peladang House. But when Amma hugged me for the first time,i lost touch with everything around me and was drunk with bliss and i don't even remember walking down the aisle after Darshan. Simply magical. I volunteered during the 2004 and 2006 visit. Looking forward for it this year too. Can't wait...
There is no word that could describe the blessing from AMMA. Im just gifted to be with her evertime that she has been visiting Malaysia. I have been a volenteer since the year 2004. Can't wait for the coming event
Few years back, I was hearing a lot about AMMA which really urged my interest to know more about her. My true feelings of devotion towards Her, will be after a first blissful hug in 2006. I felt peace in her arms and that really made me wonder more about who She really is. After the hug, it really made me curious to know more about Her and also Her teachings. I would say that after getting to know AMMA, She has taught me many things about life and the ways to live life to the fullest. I really enjoy reading and was very mesmerized by the messages and quotes from AMMA which teaches me the way to live a beautiful life. One of my favourite is the recent message of AMMA in the translation of Amma's weekly article appeared in Mathrubhumi daily on 10th February 2008 titled "LEARN THE BASICS OF LOVE FROM NATURE". Now, I am waiting in great anticipation to meet AMMA again.~Aum Amriteshwariyeh Namaha~
Unconditional love…. That’s the essence of AMMA who hugs and embraced millions and transform them to be a wonderful soul. AMMA is my beloved Satguru, who had shown me the path of love for the success of my wellbeing. My experiences with AMMA were something that I always longing all this while in my life. Speaking about her hug…it’s a hug of motherly love and I could feel the peace within me. It’s truly a beautiful and amazing touch where no words could express the tremendous inner feelings that occur to one. Being in presences of AMMA is a great gift of life. Every single moment being or thinking about AMMA gives me the bliss and my tears flows freely with joy. Experiencing the moments with AMMA may vary from one to another but it’s definitely an experience that one can treasure his whole life. AMMA, I LOVE YOU.
I used to cry a lot alone after meeting Amma asking Her to make Her presence more tangible & repeat the bliss of being in Her arms without having to fly to India everytime I felt the intense need for it. I thought, Oh! how impossible is that!? Its then that Amma sent Her "child" from India, in the clever guise of working for some company here in KL. He gave me as part of I AM tech (refresher) lessons, a few simple steps that made Her presence so tangilble & Her darshan so vividly experiencable everyday morning while doing I AM meditation, that I spend the rest of my day in the hangover of Her incredible darshan, walking around in air!! So She did answer my prayers. So then I used to have doubts of so many things in life, which I used to ask my Amma photo in my room! How will I ever solve these issues? So then I would call this "child" send by Her for some I AM tech doubts & without me asking, he would spontaneously answer every single question I had asked to Amma the same day! This had happened many a time, that finally my doubts dissolved in the tears of joy in being able see each & everyone of my issues solved! So,if you have not received an answer, it only means you havent really asked Her yet! Matarani kii..JAI!
When the first time I saw Amma I dont understand Why did I Cry so much?I dont know Why?But When She hugged me in her Hands tears were Flowing Non Stop.At first I thought that she is going to hug me with my baby Together. What a Surprise! She Took my son from my hands and kissed him 3 Times and gave him Darshan. Then Only she hugged me.You know what,my son is so blessed. He was only 3 months Old.I feel that he is so gifted.Me and My Husband are Trying to make arrangements to Voluntter Ourself During Amma's Visit here This Time.Im really Looking Forward to see Her.Amma is the First Person I greet Every Morning as I Place her In My Room.I feel that My whole Family is bleesed By Her.Amma Have guided me in so many ways and the best part of my life is when I was expecting my second baby.Yes,My baby is Fine Now and Its a tought Decision to make and I dont regret.Amma is there for both my sons. You have blessed them With Good health.Thats all I wanted from Her.Go and see her for yourself. She is a living Saint in My Life.

31 March 2008 - Thanks to my wonderful friends for exposing me to many positive things in life and introducing me to Amma.
It was a life rewarding experience, listening to Her and being hugged was a JOY!
I just burst out in tears when She hugged me for the first time. I must say I am feeling much lighter :-) [I believe I can fly].
Amma invited me to sit on stage (thanks to the volunteer for taking me up) and being near Her was a blessing.
No words can describe that.
To the rest of you, just go with open heart and you will know what I am talking about.
Enjoy life and cherish your loved ones.
Dear Organizer, i have few comment or rather i would say concerns on recent Amma's visit to Malaysia.
1) Change of mode in distubuting tokens. Last visit token has been given while going up to the hall but this time token only been released upon sitting in the hall. There many cases people who has come early been released token late. Ps improve it for upcoming visit.
2) Food, why can't we give free food. It can be just sweet rice or sambar rice or sour rice+ potatos. Are you telling the re will be no spsonsors. By collecting money this destroyed amma's name.
3) Volunteers - i think some of them become V for easy access to the hall. Some of them having good time by talking and laughing in the hall. What happen? Do we have more supply then demand? I think we should hire people rather than getting huge number of volunteers.
Or control the V. Ps improve it in near future. There are V came from Iph, Jhb,Pen and other states but they don't have clue at all. Strictly V need to be attend one day ahead briefing session otherwise they are not entitled for V status.
4) I could see only the same group of people doing arathi. Why can't select people of fresh or first timer to attend towards it. This will give them happiness. Committe members need to scarifice all this, if they can't sacrifices then they are not Amma's children.
Do i make sense.
All the best. Amma bless all of you.
i felt like i was on the top of d world when i was in her arms..amma has a vibration in her..i realised in when i was in her arms. i couldnt stop my tears when i was in her arms..jus wished tat could hug her longer. i love amma.. she is in my soul

1.Token distribution are undertaken by Ashram.
2.Nothing comes free even in the Ashram. So food and other items were sold.Funds are needed to organize this event. Did anonymous donate any?
3.Agreed.Volunteers were too many but unable to find them.Very poor job by Secretariat.
4.Aarthi list finalized by Swamiji in charge. It is uncommon for the same person doing twice unless Swamiji requests. Committee members are also humans. They deserve more than some inactive people or armchair critics.
5. Anyway, the programme was well organized except in the eyes of a few .

First and foremost thank you very much for your comments and observations.
1. The change of mode in distributing tokens were made by the ashram. We have no say in that. We would however, like to apologize if it has caused you any inconvenience.
2. A variety of food is needed to cater for all the people that are here to meet Amma. Identified poor and needy people are given free food. All proceeds goes to the Foundation to assist in the high cost of running this event. How could this destroy the name of Amma? Pray you understand.
3. Yes, there are in excess of volunteers in some areas. When one chooses to serve, one should fulfil one's duty. Afterall they are all adults. There is no one to fool except ourselves. Hiring volunteers are out of question as Amma wanted us all to serve selflessly. It is through selfless service that we could uplift ourselves. Those volunteers who has served selflessly got the most beautiful and loving darshan from Amma. You see, Amma knows. Yes, we should train our outstation volunteers more. We will definitely take note of that.
4. All those who perform the arathi have never done that before. You may have seen some familiar faces but rest assured they have not perform this before. We do have a record of this.
Once again thank you very much for your comments and we will surely better our service to you and all in the future. Amma has selflessly sitting for hours trying to uplift us from darkness to light and to make us realise that rendering help to the poor and needy is indeed worshipping God. Let us free ourselves from negativiity and fill our being with love and compassion minus the ego. Take care and God bless.

1.We were informed by Ashram that token distribution will be distributed while seated in the hall during the Amma's bhajan. There might have been a mistake in executing the distribution of the tokens. More attention will be given in the next visit.
2.Food sales have been carried out all the time and this too on the advice of Ashram,as is done there too.Getting sponsors is besides the point.Raising funds, however small,is essential. The food was sold at a price everyone could afford.
3. I agree with you about the volunteers. New and inexperienced volunteers were too many. Many were walking aimlessly. I assure you next time this won't happen as I intend to change the method of recruitment,if I am still around!
I am sure the outstation volunteers would perform better next time.
4.With regards to Arathi. Yes, on the second day, 1 or 2 pairs were there who have done before. This was because Swami Amritatmananda Puri suddenly decided to increase the number of pairs and we had to rope in couples who were within the distance. This was an exception.Normally the same pair does not do the arathi twice..I am sorry, there is no differention made between committee members and others. We have so many devotees who have been doing regular seva for Amma's organizations here. They would be given preference as per the guidelines of Ashram. I would like to invite you to offer your services to these organizations so that others would benefit in getting Amma's blessings. You can contact me at 012-6526751.I hope I have clarified all your concerns.
If you need any clarifications, please do not hesitate to contact me.
In Amma's Service.
Ohm Namashivaya everyone,
I had the opportunity to volunteer at the recent Amma's Visit 2008. Having only heard of Amma from a dear dear friend prior to this, and not being able to get darshan during her 2006 visit, I was keen, excited and more than anything curious to volunteer. Curious, for I had heard so much of Amma. Her divine presence, and awed and amazed at her tireless and selfless love for all her childern, be they sincere devotees or curious first timers (like myself).
I had read some materials about Amma, but mostly, was touched by the moving recounts of my dear dear friend's own personal experience with Amma, on receiving Amma's darshan and how Amma's teachings and guidance helped this friend of mine in every aspect of her life. I liked what I read about her teachings, they were precisesly what I could relate to in helping me become the best version of myself, someone kind, patient, compassionate and selfless (all of which by the way, I am still working very hard on) and that appealed to me tremendously.
So given the opportunity to be near Amma in person at the event, and being able to offer what little service I could by volunteering, I happily agreed. This was the opportunity I needed to get to know Amma, not by directly meeting her and talking to her, I knew that would be too selfish a request, but by simply being in her presence, and more importantly, in the presence of her long time devotees, people who practice her teachings and make Amma's teaching part of their lives, and I had wanted to learn, simply put, by example. If I (a self confessed first timer and "blur" case) could see how Amma's devotees behaved, acted and served, I would be able to see for myself how I would learn from her teachings and improve myself.
What I saw during my time volunteering has been both amazing and revealing.
Amazing that I made so many friends, and in them, I saw the truest form of sincerity, kindness, compassion, patience and generosity. I saw how Amma's teachings were directly applied, given the most stressful, harrowing, and overwhelming of situations thrown at them. Exactly the kind of person I aspire to be!
Revealing, for sadly, I also saw the unpleasant side of human character. Simple things like patience, and common courtesy were sadly lacking in a few. Perhaps the demanding task of being part of the organising team striving to materialise such an incredible feat of such huge proportions such as the Amma's Visit 2008 event proved very very trying for them.
I may be mistaken, my eyes clouded over by my own weakness in focusing too much on the mistakes. It is easy to forget isn't it that the entire programme for Amma's 2008 visit was run by volunteers (a mish mash of housewives, insurance agents, sales executives, writers, teachers, retirees) not by an event organising company who are professionally trained for such things....I have a lot to learn yet.
Having said that, despite the less than perfect manner in which some divisions were handled, whether influenced by matters out of their hands or not, I am BRIMMING with joy at the thought than tens of thousands of people managed to meet Amma, be in her presence and receive darshan. That alone justifies the many many hours of sacrificed sleep, the unpleasantries that some had to face, the complaints received....the additional stress taken on by the devotees who volunteered and bravely took on multiple and huge responsibilities, the tonnes of patience of the many many devotees who came for the event and waited, uncomplaining, for hours and hours on end....
All the work, stress and sacrifice seems but a drop of water in this every flowing river we call life and learning.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience volunteering (although yes, I confess, I complained a little). If I had in any way offended anyone, or contributed to the less than useful bunch of volunteers, I offer my sincere apologies, and would like to take this opportunity to thank the organizing committee in letting me be part of the Amma 2008 visit experience and last but not least to say to everyone involved in putting the Amma Visits Malaysia 2008 event together, GIVE YOURSELVES A PAT OF THE BACK, ALL OF YOU! For a job well done!!!!
Sincerely,
Joycelyn
I would like to respond to the comments of Anonymous (dated April 2, 2008 10:40 PM) on the issue of volunteers. Please do not have the mind set that all volunteers (identified by their attractive green T-Shirt) are expected to work 24 hours/day for the two consecutive days. The volunteers have been given duty by their respective Coordinators on certain time slots, perhaps 9AM-4PM, 4PM-11PM and 11PM-6AM. I had, in fact, stretched the duty hours of Youth Brigade from 9AM-9PM and 9PM-9AM. So, by the time the devotees enters the Darshan Hall, many volunteers may have completed their duty. It is perfectly alright for them to laugh and talk and enjoy the entire program. I am rest assured that the volunteers who are supposed to be on duty were actually doing their duty well. The Food Coupon Sales and Souvenir Book Sales volunteers noticeably did a great job. Thanx to Amma for an excellent team in Amma's Kitchen. I am also thankful to Amma that I have been given a team whom I could completely rely on and had given me the fullest support at all times. Well, it is not possible for a normal devotee to notice all the hardwork of volunteers. So I feel it's definitely the Coordinators' responsiblity to highlight the matter (when necessity arises) & appreciate the effort of the volunteers for a job well done!
The New Strait Times interview with Amma which has also been posted on Amritapuri website has Amma talk about Her charitable activities in Bandar Kinrara & adoption of 10 poor families in Semenyih. Wow! People who never met Amma could be found in Puchong among the children doing what little they could do for those in need, but hardly any Amma devotee could be seen in the vicinity except a few countable only on one's hand. Even a visitor from India (who I met in Amritapuri), who was in KL just for a few weeks, ran to Puchong every oppurtunity he got & was puzzled how people did not find this oppurtunity to perform seva.
Any Amma visit program anywhere in the world will have issues & people who are not aware of the system well. But only in M'sia can you find an organiser (who does not have the courage to put his/her name) questioning the amount of donation of someone who posted his/her opinions!! isnt real donation in an open heart full of compassion & hands yearning to perform seva..? did the organiser (whose arrogance is discussion even in coffee shops & blogs) ever make it to puchong? and someone even going to the extend of requesting RK Swami to have those suggestions removed from the blog!
One wonders seeing all this, are these the children of the One known around the world as love & compassion personified.. where is the humility She is known as the embodiment of?
When Amma said in above mentioned interview, "What is lacking in society today is compassion", one's mind enquires which "Soceity" She was mentioning about!
Amit,
p.s: you dont have to go to RK Swamiji to remove this post.may remove anytime.leave that poor soul alone for a change.
Namashivaya,
When there was time where i totally lost, came my Divine Mother to Rescue me. i had the feelings that The MaaKali Herself would give darshan to me. This is the thoughts that i had few years back after i had darshan with Our Beloved Amma. A long Struggle to meet Amma. Almost 8 years and i got the answer. Amma. She made the situation where i can learn about divinity and life. Made me realized the purposes of my life.
2008, again SHE came to Shower Her Childrens with love and bliss. Imagine, THe Parashakti Herself sitting there, hugging each and every child of Hers.
Thanks to this blog for giving chances to amma's children. Please don't remove this blog.
Aum Amritesvariyai namaha..
Dear All,
Firstly i would like to thank Organizing Team for good job done. As agreed by Milee and Dr Suku, volunteers need to be controlled and manage it well. I agreed with the statement that volunteers try to get green pass for easy entry( but it was minority).
As Milee mentioned we need to do selfless service without any expectation. If the orginizing team would have anounced that all Volunteers will not get amma's hugs, i wonder how many of them will be volunteers. This is what we called selfless service. But you will be suprise that there will be new set of volunteers willing to accept it. Why not we try this for next Amma's visit.
Everything said & proposals done for next year, (ok, we have improvements to make; but hey, none of us are perfect, :-) are we?). can we now get over this & get down & get the seva done? (now, dont ask me what seva? how many among us have done anything this week, fit to be called seva?) That might make Amma smile more than going on & on about these visit issues until the server crashes! Let's get back to the memory of being in Her blissful embrace, realise the oneness within us all and, love & understand each other!
Welcome back home! :-)
Dear Amma's Children
Although I have been following Amma for the past eights yrs, everytime we meet Amma it is a new experience and as such what we know about Amma is so so little.
I see that the website started off with sharing of feelings about Amma. But of recent the comments in the chit chats are bordering on defamation/taking sides on the mgmt of MOC/bragging about personalities. We do this with so little knowledge about Amma and event which HH graces.
Someone started the same chit chat in 2004 and it went awry and it was used to attack other Amma children, created tension amongst devotees and misled public into thinking we are one group misfits.
Of course Amma wants us to burn our Karma but in the process do not increase it. I did increase my Karma in 2004 and u know what Amms did?
So, I propose (I stand corrected) that we the devotees spend more time taking about Amma to "non-Amma devotees" rather spending precious time raising mundane and trivial issues with believers, pitting one against another.
So what i do...Everytime I meet someone new I talk about Amma and the compassion HH shows to her children. I have done this even during official visits to overseas with expats..So let us reduce this chit chats and focus our energy on our children, friends/family and work. Om Namahsivya
